Health Insurance for all
Rakesh Dwivedi (25) got a hefty performance bonus this year. It made him ecstatic. Going out with friends and buying that top-end mobile phone was uppermost on his mind. Later the same day, Rakesh called his dad like most days, but figured that all was not well at home. His mother needed hospitalisation. The doctors had to remove a rogue tumour immediately. This was when it dawned on Rakesh that his dad had almost no savings or health insurance. The entire expenditure had to be borne by Rakesh. Overnight, Rakesh changed his priorities. He decided that it was time he bought a medical cover for himself as well as his ageing parents.
Age Agnostic ‑ a clear winner
Rakesh chose Age Agnostic after weighing his options. What attracted him to the policy was the transparency and comprehensiveness of the plan. As hospitalisation benefits, Age Agnostic covered the sum insured with a reinstatement option. This provision was once in a policy period. Rakesh felt that this was a unique feature. The pre and post hospitalization expenses also applied for a duration of 60-90 days. This was far better than what others were offering to Rakesh.
Key features of the plan
The plan is well crafted. It includes features like unlimited daycare procedures and ambulance charges. The benefits of these facilities can go up to Rs 3,000 per hospitalization. Besides, the plan also extends coverage to ayurveda, yoga, unani, siddha, and homoeopathy treatments. This is as per a directive from the Government of India. The insurance sector has recently approved the Ayush information document. This includes the Ayush system-wise index of diseases requiring hospitalisation. It also includes indicated therapies/ treatment procedures and average treatment rates for insurance coverage. Representatives from the insurance sector, Ayush research councils, and hospitals helped make this document. For such Ayush treatments, the coverage can go up to 25% of the sum insured. For organ transplants, the coverage extends to the sum insured.
The plan comes laden with added benefits like Income tax benefit on premium paid under 80D of Income Tax Act*. For the salaried, this is a wonderful tax saving instrument. There is also the option to choose voluntary deductibles which can save your premium.
Age Agnostic has more than 4,500 empanelled hospitals across India. This makes hospitalisation hassle-free.
Claim settlement in a flash
A tedious claim settlement process has put off many patients in the past. Insurance companies have been trying to overcome this difficulty for quite some time now. But, this speaks for itself at Age Agnostic as the average cashless claim settlement takes 45 minutes to settle.
For enrolment, the insurer has not specified any medical tests up to 60 years of age. This is on the condition that the applicant had no history of adverse health conditions. The members covered under the scheme are self, spouse, and dependent children. The age criteria for the proposer and spouse are 18 years and 65 years. For children it is between three months and 21 years. The sum insured options are Rs 5 lakhs and Rs 10 lakhs.
*Tax benefits are as per prevailing tax laws. Tax laws are subject to change.
